Data Scientist: eCommerce: London

Understanding customers is central to how we operate as an eCommerce firm. We combine traditional Customer Insight techniques using advanced statistical measures but our goal for 2017 and beyond is to expand our Data Science capabilities from creating the right platforms for real-time data analysis through to predictive measures to understand customer behaviour at a deeper level.

We are thus seeking the kind of individual who understands the evolution of a Data Scientist is organise from solid platform development using tools such as Java, Python etc through to solving problems computationally when analytical methods are insufficient. We have a small collegiate culture where MSc/PhD profiles are a core part of the team.

Our Founders see our team as integral to how the business is set to grow and suitable profiles will demonstrate the following capabilities:

-A solid MSc (ideally PhD) background in Agent-based methods (Machine Learning, Computational Statistics etc) from a top-tier University. 

-An excellent early grounding in coding for problem-driven environments (Java, Python etc). 

-A problem solver who can apply advanced statistical/computational approaches to commercial challenges (think real-time customer data). 

-A true technologist at heart (did you use your old Xbox CPU to hook to your PC to see if you could make it faster?)
